Trainee Celebrations

Columbia Industries’ board of directors and staff are proud to host celebrations throughout the year for our trainees and their families.

During the Annual Summer Picnic, the prestigious Dan Dibble Award is presented to a deserving trainee, who is nominated by their peers. Dan worked for Columbia Industries for 13 years, passing away in 1995. Dan was a hard worker who was very nice to everyone he met and he tried to do his best on any job that was asked of him. The award is given based on four characteristics: team player, positive attitude, reliability, and quality of work.

Tenure awards for every five years of service with Columbia Industries are also presented. To date, our most tenured trainees have been with us for over 40 years!

And of course, every trainee receives a thank you gift. It’s also a time for our trainees to celebrate their successes and share stories with others. There’s also plenty of fun…games, karaoke, and a dunking machine — where senior staff and board members get really wet!

Even before the summer picnic is over, trainees look forward to the Holiday Dinner in December. Staff and board members put on a huge turkey meal, complete with all the trimmings. There’s lots of fun…and even a guest appearance by Santa!
