Tri-City Rotary Mid-Columbia Duck Race

CI Solutions trainees prepare over 40,000 ducks for the annual Tri-City Rotary Great Mid-Columbia Duck Race. CI helped establish this event over 20 years ago, and is proud to be an integral part of it today.

Since 1905, Rotary International has been a world-wide organization whose motto is “Service Above Self.”

Locally, six Tri-Cities Rotary Clubs strive to improve the social and emotional wellbeing and economic conditions of families and children throughout our region.

The Great Mid-Columbia Duck Race is one of the largest fundraising projects that help with these efforts – providing over $2 million in support of local agencies and service projects.

The Duck Race consists of selling ducks or tickets for a chance to win prizes that are donated by other local businesses. For further information on the duck race or Rotary supported agencies or projects, visit our website www.midcolumbiaduckrace.org

As a partner in this terrific community event, we label the ducks with waterproof numbers — one at time! Our trainees have a lot of fun taking care of our rubber friends until they are ready to be launched down the mighty Columbia River!

Our staff also helps with logistics of the event…we help set up kiosks at local grocery stores for ticket sales…we move the 20’ duck balloon all over the community for promotional efforts…we transport the ducks to the Columbia River launch point on the day of the race…and we gather up all the ducks after their race down the river, and ship them off to their next location.
